There are three ways that it is possible to recover emails deleted from Outlook.
- If you have deleted data from Outlook then first check in the Deleted Items folder, which is located in your folder list.
- If it isn't there then you can attempt to recover recently deleted items: click on the Deleted Items folder, then go to Tools menu and select the 'Recover Deleted Items' option. If the option is greyed out then there is nothing to recover. Otherwise it will give you a list of items from which you can recover your lost data.
- If your lost data is not in this list, then the IS self-service Service Desk may be able to recover the data from a backup of your mailbox.
Mailbox recovery is a time-consuming task and should only be requested if the lost data is sufficiently important and cannot be resent from its original sender.
