The University provides students and staff with personal and shared file storage - including the Institutional Research Data Store (IRDS) - which can be accessed both on and off campus, and from UWA-managed or personal 'BYOD' computers.

We have recently commenced the migration of all student & staff data from their existing legacy storage locations (known as H-drive, S-drive and others) to Microsoft Cloud storage - OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint.

Undergraduate Students - update for Semester 1, 2024

For students, we recommend Student Drive, Microsoft's OneDrive service that makes it simple to create and collaborate on files.

If you commenced your studies at UWA prior to 2024, your H-drive files (the contents of the My Documents/My Pictures folders when you logged on to a UWA-managed computer) will be read-only from the start of Semester 1, 2024. You can copy any of the files you wish to keep to OneDrive by following the guidance in the knowledge base: Student File Storage - 2024 and beyond

HDR Students

HDR students will receive direct messaging as their personal files are migrated from H-drive to OneDrive. If you need to access your legacy home drive (H-drive), follow the guidance in the knowledge base: Access H-drive on a personal computer on Windows or macOS.

Staff

Staff will receive direct messaging as their personal files are migrated from H-drive to OneDrive.

If you still need to access the legacy shared drives (usually called S-drive) on a personal device, follow the guidance below:
