Some services are available to the entire University, while others are limited to eligible users.

Access Management
The Access Management service provides staff, students and registered visitors with a single user ID and password for access to a range of UWA online services, including resources offered by schools and faculties. An account is automatically created in the UWA Access Management System (IAM) for all UWA staff, students and registered visitors.

Antivirus and Malware Protection
Protection from malicious software for your UWA device, including ransomware.

Audio Visual Services
Audio, wired or wireless video projection, interactive whiteboard and microphone system capability. New installation request, repair, troubleshooting and maintenance.

AV Equipment Setup and Loan
AV Equipment loan service and equipment setup for events.

Business Analysis
Normally delivered as part of an approved IT project, alongside a project manager accountable for project delivery. This service can be requested independently if a Business Unit requires Business Analysis services in a project, or operational (non-project) capacity.

Business Intelligence
Business intelligence platforms, data warehouse, dashboards, analytic tools, transactional reporting, and operational data stores.

Cloud Storage
Web based storage to share documents between your desktop and mobile devices, sync files and collaborate with others.

Computer Labs
The Computer Labs are equipped with Uni IT managed computers, software and additional equipment. These spaces provide core and class-specific software to all students, academic staff and designated users with an active University account.

Desktop Management
Design, release and support of a Managed Operating Environment (MOE) image made available to every UWA managed customer computer, ensuring availability of and updates to applications, Antivirus, patching and application of group policy to provide access rights to data on the network.

Desktop Support
The IT Service Delivery Centre (SDC) is responsible for all aspects of Customer support for UWA devices. Desk-side support is provided when it cannot be provided remotely. If you have a request, or some trouble the service desk is unable to resolve directly, one of our analysts will follow up.

Digital Signage
Digital Signage installation, content management setup and troubleshooting.

E-Mail and Calendaring
Services associated with e-mail, calendaring, contacts, broadcast mail, and messaging.

Enterprise Application Enhancements
Collects, prioritises and selects enhancements to be implement on enterprise applications.

Enterprise Application Support
Provides restoration of service and support for all enterprise applications.

Hardware Asset Management
Lifecycle management of hardware available to UWA business units with a valid project grant. This includes procurement, deployment, maintenance and retirement of assets.

Hosted Platform and Compute
The Hosted Platform and Compute service provides support for the physical and virtual hosting of University IT infrastructure in a secure and managed environment; connected to the wider UWA network and campuses. The service also provides provisioning, maintenance and support of the Servers and Server operating systems, including but not limited to servers in the Datacentres and other environments, as well as the virtual servers running on IAAS environments.

IT Architecture Governance Service
Makes recommendations on all matters relating to technical strategy, frameworks, standards and policies for the provisioning and support of IT services, in line with strategic planning.

IT Change and Communications
The IT Change and Communications service provides stakeholders with tailored advice, guidance and assistance regarding the planning of activities relating to technical changes that impact users. These activities aim to provide users with awareness around upcoming changes that will affect services that the University offers, and how to make the most of those changes.

IT Governance and Reporting
The IT Governance and Reporting service seeks to provide advice, guidance and assistance with project delivery governance and reporting capabilities that ensures effective management of risks and resources, while maintaining compliance with standards and specifications.

IT Knowledge Management provides the reader with easy steps to resolve technical queries and issues, and ensures it is always relevant and up to date.

IT Portfolio Management Service
Management and implementation of technology initiatives which return significant value to the University - IT projects, programmes, and other work undertaken in alignment with the University?s strategic objectives.

Project management to ensure outcomes are fit for their intended purpose with appropriate levels of transparency, accountability and project governance.

IT Security Support
The IT Security Support service provides IT security assessment, education, and awareness of IT security requirements, policies, and guidelines. Including respond to, remediate, and seek to prevent IT security incidents and vulnerabilities as well as support for audit processes.

IT Strategy Development Service
Advisory services to assess high-level alignment of proposed initiatives with University strategic objectives, current state and planned direction of IT services.

IT Training Support
The IT Training Support service provides advisory services relating to training requirements and delivery; planning and creation of self-help training collateral in partnership with business representatives and project resources.

Lecture Capture
Services for recording, storing, editing, and publishing course lectures.

Mailing Lists
Mailing and distribution list are a compilation of email addresses used to send email to multiple recipients. Rather than individually sending an email to each user, mailing lists send email to specific user groups through a single message.

MFA
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your UWA identity and data, and is fast becoming a requirement for many services where confirming identity is vital, from online banking and government services, through to social media and cloud service accounts. In short, it requires you to provide two or more factors - sometimes called 2-step verification - to verify your identity when accessing UWA services.

Mobile Phones and Tablets
Procurement of mobile telephone and data usage including sourcing, maintenance and support of mobile phones and related equipment, facilitated through external service providers, to meet business needs.

Network Access
Provisioning of access on campus to University networks for education and research, ensuring security and appropriate authentication.

Network Shares
UWA hosted secure network storage for storing individual data typically mapped as H drive on UNIWA connected computers; shared staff data to store and share administrative and other non-research data and is typically mapped as S drive on UNIWA connected computers. Shared student data to store teaching and learning data is typically mapped as T drive on UNIWA connected computers.

Phone
All services associated with telephony, including voice services, teleconferencing, etc.

Printing and Scanning
Follow me printing allowing printing from any UWA computer (or personal device using Web Print) for collection from one of the many fleet managed printers available on campus; catering for up to A3 paper size in colour and B/W. Payment and metrics applied to your account, only when the document is released.
All fleet managed printers can scan up to A3 paper size and send as PDF document to your UWA email address. Subject to copyright.

Professional Collaboration
Technology-enhanced communication, coordination, and collaborative services that facilitate the creation, sharing, and exchange of information and ideas within communities of interest. Includes social media.

Research Computing
The Research Computing service provides access to a range of flexible high performance computing solutions and resources, that support research and teaching activities that utilise a range of specialist applications and/or storage and processing of large amounts of data.

Research Data
Institutional Research Data Store (IRDS) is designed for working with the large datasets. It meets University requirements for confidentiality, integrity, availability, security and ownership of data. Conforms with Department of Health (WA), ARC, NHMRC and School of Population Health requirements.

Resource Accounts
Resource accounts typically represent a bookable resource - like a meeting room, or piece of equipment - which can be reserved by a meeting/calendar request. A resource account has a calendar in the UWA Exchange platform to manage bookings.

Role Based Accounts
Role Based Account (RBA) creates a shared mailbox which several staff can access. Typically, RBA?s are used when a number of staff perform a common role, or function.

Service Desk
The Service Desk support service provides a single first point of contact for the support of all Uni IT provided equipment and services via self-service, email or telephone. It consists of a team of dedicated and knowledgeable staff who are able to provide courteous and expert support. The Service Desk develops and employs the skills, tools and processes to resolve your issue, to your satisfaction, on first contact wherever possible.

Software Asset Management
Procurement, licensing, negotiation, packaging and distribution of software to UWA managed devices. Subject to licensing agreements.

Software Library
Licensed software that you can download and install on your privately owned computer. Subject to copyright.

Spam and Phishing
Protection from malicious links and exploits sent to your UWA email address, including intellectual theft.

TechDesk
Visit the TechDesk at the Reid Library for assistance connecting to University resources from your privately owned computer.

Technology Enhanced Spaces
Provision and maintenance of technology in specialized learning environments.

VPN
Virtual Private Network (VPN) provides UWA Intranet access from elsewhere on the Internet via a secure tunnel. Allows staff and students to work remotely and access internal systems.

Wifi
UniIT operates a number of wireless network services on campus, which provide Internet access to staff, students, sponsored guests and visiting academics.
