eduroam is an international initiative providing university staff and students with wireless internet access when visiting participating institutions, without the hassle of applying for a guest account or similar.

This service can also be used by staff and students from other participating institutions when visiting UWA.

When visiting participating institutions, the eduroam service provides convenient wireless internet access for UWA staff and students, and allows UWA to provide a similar service to our visitors from participating institutions.

  • Accessibility - Extensive list of participating locations, including all major Australian universities and many tertiary education and research institutions globally.
  • Compatibility - Most current Wi-Fi enabled laptops, tablets, PDAs, smartphones and other devices can be configured to connect to eduroam.
  • Coverage - eduroam is available across the majority of university buildings; please view the coverage listing for specifics.

Standard University business hours; Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5.00pm.

Individual users will:
  • Report any issues to their local IT group.

Local IT Groups will:

  • Provide support for the installation and configuration necessary to connect to the service.
  • Be the first point of contact for staff who require support.
  • Escalate incidents to Business Information & Technology Service (BI&TS) via the BI&TS Service Desk as required.

Business Information & Technology Services will:

  • Be the point of contact for the eduroam organisation.
  • Advise of any unscheduled service interruptions.
  • Ensure the availability of the service.
