Unifi is the name of UWA's wireless network, which provides internet access across multiple sites. Staff and students can connect their devices to the network using their UWA Login.

Unifi provides wireless access to select university services and internet resources, from UWA teaching venues, collaborative spaces and common areas.

  • Network Security - Unifi employs up-to-date wireless security methods to prevent unauthorised access.

  • Concurrency - Staff and students may connect up to three devices simultaneously.

How do I get it:

Staff have immediate access to the network as soon as their UWA Login is activated.

Students must - in addition to activating their UWA Login - also agree to the terms and conditions of internet access, which can be also be found in the Pheme management system.

Support Hours:

Standard University business hours; Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm.

There is no charge associated with the standard service offering.

An active UWA Login.

This service is available 24 by 7.
All scheduled maintenance and outage windows will be advised ahead of time.

Commitments

Individual staff and students will:

  • Consider the security of their devices connected to Unifi, as all web traffic will be attributed to them.
  • Report any issues to their local IT department

Local IT Support will:

  • Provide support for the installation and configuration of software/hardware used to connect to the service.
  • Be the first point of contact for staff who require support.
  • Escalate incidents to Business Information & Technology Services via the self-service Service Desk as required.

Business Information & Technology Services will:

  • Ensure the availability of the service.
  • Discuss possibilities for network expansion with appropriate parties.
  • Advise of any unscheduled service interruptions.
